JUNE 5-12, 2011
Pentecost, Brother Sylvain of Taizé
A Message from the Rector:
Following a lengthy search process involving 42 candidates, I am excited to announce that The Rev. Virginia Strickland’s acceptance of a call to be the new Assistant Minister at Incarnation starting in mid-September. Her first official Sunday will be September 25.
Ginger is from Houston, Texas. She graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in 2001, and from Yale Divinity School in 2006. (She was Amanda’s roommate at Yale.) For the last five years, Ginger has served as a lay pastor at the interdenominational American Church in Paris. Yesterday, she was ordained deacon at the American Cathedral in Paris, where I once served as Canon Pastor.
The Rev. Amanda Kucik has extended her stay at Incarnation twice over the past five years. Last May, she announced that she would be looking to transfer to a new position after Easter of this year. While Amanda has not finalized her next position, she hopes to do so soon, and she will, in any case, be leaving Incarnation when such a position begins or at the end of September, whichever comes first. As of now, we are planning for her final Sunday to be September 18.
You will be hearing more about how we will be showing our thanks to Amanda in the newsletter and other subsequent announcements. For the moment, we are thankful that Amanda is still with us, and we can be grateful that we have attracted an equally outstanding person to succeed her.
I know you will want to keep both Amanda and Ginger in your prayers this summer.
